A full mahogany speakeasy, twenty steps from the water.
Ten years on the Portage Lakes. Everybody knows The Cro's Nest.
The Cro's Nest was finished like a proper room and then some: mahogany millwork, carved columns, a pressed-copper ceiling, crystal overhead, and thirty-eight feet of granite bar wrapping the room.
Nothing about it is a business. No cover, no tab, no last call posted on the wall. What there is: a deep back bar, etched glassware with our name on it, and a mirror behind the bottles with every one of the Portage Lakes cut into it.
Thirty-eight feet of mahogany bar under a pressed-copper ceiling — built once, to the highest grade, and warm the moment you walk in.
See the buildThree shelves of it, poured with a heavy hand — plus four taps kept on seasonal offerings and a cold case that's never empty.
See the listThe whole chain etched into the mirror behind the bar, and the real thing a short walk out the door.
